Thank You New Followers for Your Support and a Heads Up on Red Flags

  • 4 min read

I want to start by saying a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has recently followed me on social media and visited my blog, The Living Tree Company. Your support means a lot to me. Every view, comment, and visit encourages me to keep sharing content that matters. I appreciate your time and interest more than words can express.

At the same time, I want to be transparent about something important. As my community grows, I will be paying close attention to the quality and authenticity of new followers. Unfortunately, fake profiles and scammers are common online, and I want to protect this space for genuine connections. Below, I’ll share some red flags I watch for and why I take action when I spot them. This is to keep our community safe and welcoming for everyone.

Why Your Support Matters

Every new follower is a new connection, a new voice in the conversation, and a new reason to keep creating. When you follow, like, or comment, it helps the blog reach more people who might find value in the content. It also motivates me to improve and share more stories, tips, and insights.

The Living Tree Company is more than just a blog. It’s a community where we explore ideas, share experiences, and grow together. Your visits and engagement help build this space into something meaningful. I want to keep it that way — safe, honest, and full of real people.

How to Spot Fake Profiles and Scammers

Not everyone who follows is here for the right reasons. Some accounts are created to scam, spam, or spread misinformation. These fake profiles can harm the community by flooding it with irrelevant or harmful content. To protect you and myself, I watch for certain warning signs:

  • Incomplete Profile Information

Accounts without a profile photo, bio, or basic details often hide their true identity. Genuine followers usually share some information about themselves.

  • Generic or Stolen Profile Photos

If the profile picture looks like a stock photo, celebrity image, or something found elsewhere online, it’s likely fake.

  • Unusual Username or Handle

Random strings of numbers and letters or usernames that don’t match the profile name can indicate a bot or fake account.

  • Low Engagement or Few Posts

Accounts with very few posts or all posts made on the same day may be suspicious.

  • Rapid Follower Growth

If an account suddenly gains many followers in a short time, it might be part of a scam network.

  • Suspicious Direct Messages

Messages asking for money, personal details, or containing unknown links are common scam tactics.

  • Overly Promotional Content

Profiles that only post about products, contests, or services, especially if they seem too good to be true, are often not genuine.

  • Followers and Following Ratio

Accounts that follow thousands but have very few followers themselves might be bots.

  • Copy-Pasted Comments

Repeated comments across different posts or accounts suggest automated activity.

  • Unusual Location Information

Profiles claiming to be local but showing posts or info that don’t match their location raise red flags.

  • Impersonation of Celebrities or Public Figures

: If an account uses the name or photos of a well-known actor or celebrity, and pretends to be that person while interacting with your followers, it is likely a scam or fake profile.

What I Do When I Spot Red Flags

When I notice any of these signs, I take action to keep the community safe:

  • I block or report suspicious accounts to prevent them from interacting with the blog or followers.

  • I monitor comments and messages closely to catch scams early.

  • I encourage followers to report any suspicious activity they see.

This is not about being suspicious of everyone but about protecting the space we all enjoy. I want you to feel safe and confident when you visit or engage with The Living Tree Company.

How You Can Help Keep Our Community Safe

You play a key role in keeping this space genuine and welcoming. Here are some ways you can help:

  • Be cautious when accepting new followers or friends. Look for the signs mentioned above.

  • Report suspicious accounts or messages. Most platforms have easy ways to report scams or fake profiles.

  • Avoid clicking on unknown links or sharing personal information. Scammers often use these tactics to steal data.

  • Engage with real profiles. Genuine interaction helps the community grow stronger.

  • Share this information with others. The more people know about these red flags, the safer everyone will be.

Together, we can build a community that values honesty, respect, and meaningful connections.
